About SimpleDoc
SimpleDoc explains Indian government services in plain English. It is independent, free, and asks for nothing about you.
Why this exists
Official portals are written to be legally precise, which is not the same as being understandable. They state the rule but rarely the situation you are actually in: which form applies to your case, what it costs, how long it takes, and what to do when the website rejects you for no stated reason. That gap is where agents charge money for something you could do yourself in twenty minutes.
How figures are verified
Every number a calculator uses lives in one file with the official page it came from and the date it was last checked. A job re-checks those sources daily and reports when something moves, but it never edits the figures itself. A person confirms the official page before any rate changes. That separation is deliberate.
Where we have not verified something, there is no calculator. Road tax is the clearest example: 36 states and union territories, each with its own basis of assessment. A calculator that guesses confidently is worse than none, because you would have no way to know it was wrong.
What we never do
- Ask for your UAN, Aadhaar, PAN, password or OTP. There is no login and no account.
- Send your figures anywhere. Every calculator runs inside your browser.
- Claim to be official. SimpleDoc is not connected to any government body.
- Offer to file, submit or process anything on your behalf.
