Income Tax checker

I filed my ITR but missed the 30 day e-verification window. What now?

An unverified return counts as never filed. A checker for whether you can still fix it and how.

Nothing here asks for your PAN

Figures checked against the official source on 13 August 2026. Income Tax Department, Raise Service Request user manual, and CBDT Circular No. 11/2024 This is an estimate for guidance, not a statement of what you owe.

Filed on time isn't the same as filed validly

An ITR is only complete once it's e-verified, and the department gives 30 days from filing to do it, by Aadhaar OTP, net banking, or a signed ITR-V. Miss that window and the return is treated as never having been filed at all, regardless of how carefully it was prepared or how early it went in. The fix, once that's happened, is a formal condonation request, not a resubmission.

What people get wrong about this

Assuming a filed return is a done return. Filing and verification are two separate steps, and only the second one makes the return legally complete.

Assuming condonation is only for extreme circumstances. The legal standard is genuine hardship, read liberally by the authorities who decide these requests, not a narrow list of approved excuses. It's worth applying rather than assuming a reason won't qualify.
